The upcoming indie romance drama “Elena Undone”, which follows a well-known lesbian writer falling in love with a pastor’s wife, has broken a record for the longest screen kiss in history reports After Ellen.
The 3 minute 24 second lip-lock between actresses Necar Zadegan and Tracie Dinwiddie beats the previous record holder, Jane Wyman and Regis Toomey’s kiss in 1941’s “You’re in the Army Now”, by eighteen seconds. 2005’s “Kids in America” featured a six-minute kiss, however it took place during the end credits and isn’t considered ‘organic to the film’ (ie. part of the story).
Filmmaker Nicole Conn (Claire of the Moon, Little Man) wanted to “capture the power and magic behind a monumental first kiss”. The film itself will screen at Frameline in San Francisco on June 25th and at Outfest in Los Angeles on July 16th.
