“Girls” creator and star Lena Dunham is re-teaming with HBO and newcomers Konrad Kay and Mickey Down for the eight-episode drama series “Industry” which will shoot in Cardiff in Wales this Summer.
The story is set in the world of international finance and is based on Kay and Down’s personal experience as ambitious twentysomethings struggling to secure their futures.
A group of young graduates compete for a limited set of permanent positions at a top investment bank in London – but the boundaries between colleague, friend, lover and enemy soon blur as they immerse themselves in a company culture defined as much by sex, drugs and ego as it is by deals and dividends.
It’s not clear if Dunham will have an onscreen role. Kay and Down penned the scripts and executive produce alongside Dunham who will direct the pilot. Bad Wolf (“The Night Of,” “A Discovery of Witches”) will produce.
