One frustration people have had with last year’s AAA video game release “Star Wars: Battlefront” was the lack of ability to play as characters from the recent “Star Wars: The Force Awakens”. While EA has no plans to include further ‘Foce Awakens’ content into that game beyond its ‘Battle of Jakku’ single level, another gaming franchise has decided to try it.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, TT Games, The LEGO Group and Lucasfilm today announced “LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” due for release on June 28th this year. This marks the return of the No. 1 LEGO videogame franchise, allowing players to relive the epic action from the December blockbuster.
The game will introduce brand-new gameplay mechanics to build, battle and fly through the galaxy like never before, including multiple building options to advance the game. The game will reportedly include new story content exploring the time between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens to provide additional insight about the new movie and its characters.
Rey, Finn, Poe Dameron, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO, and BB-8, Kylo Ren, General Hux and Captain Phasma and all here along with iconic new “Star Wars” locales such as Jakku and Starkiller Base.
“LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will be available for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS. A Deluxe Edition is also available for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One featuring an exclusive Finn MinFig and access to the game’s season pass.
