While people had various issues with The CW’s “DC Legends of Tomorrow,” one of the more common complaints was the disappointing villain Vandal Savage. The actor’s performance aside, much of the setup of the character took place in the “Arrow”/”Flash” crossover earlier that season.
As a result, we went into the series knowing perhaps too much about him. That won’t happen with the next season as the show’s executive producer Marc Guggenheim tells EW they intend to have more of a mystery surrounding who the antagonists of the second season are:
“Unlike season 1 of Legends, where we basically had the big bad introduced in the crossover, what we’re going to do in season 2 of Legends will be more similar to what you’ve experienced in the first three seasons of Arrow or the first two seasons of Flash, where it’s more of a slow reveal and a little bit of a mystery.”
The first season ended with the surprise introduction of Rex Tyler/Hourman, with the mystery of the Justice Society of America and Tyler’s mission to form the kick off point for the new episodes. They go to air this Fall on The CW.
