Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have announced a June 8th 2018 release date for the sequel to this past summer’s reboot of the “Godzilla” franchise.
This year’s film pulled in just over $500 million at the worldwide box-office. Reviews were mixed to fairly good, most praising the monster action itself but slamming the film for its under-written human characters and minimal use of the creature.
Director Gareth Edwards is expected to return to direct the follow-up, the film’s delay partly due to Edwards’ commitment to shoot the first of the “Star Wars” spin-off films for Disney and Lucasfilm. That movie is expected in cinemas in December 2016.
