Legendary Pictures has won a heated bidding war for “Bad Blood,” a new feature project about the Theranos blood testing company scandal.
Adam McKay (“The Big Short”) penned and will direct the project which will star Jennifer Lawrence as 32-year-old entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes, the founder of the company which at one time was valued at $9 billion.
That value dropped to effectively zero following news that the company is under investigation for inaccurate testing that took place at their California labs. CMS regulators are trying to ban her for two years from owning or operating a blood lab.
McKay, Lawrence, Will Ferrell and Kevin Messick are producing.
