“The Night Manager” and “Hanna” scribe David Farr is set to pen the script for a film reboot of the “Quatermass” franchise for Legendary Entertainment and Hammer Films.
The 1950s British science-fiction series and subsequent film trilogy followed Bernard Quatermass, a highly moral scientist who continually finds himself confronting sinister alien forces that threaten to destroy humanity.
The character was often considered a precursor to the more well-known The Doctor in “Doctor Who” and was played by numerous actors over the years. Simon Oakes (“Let Me In,” “The Woman in Black”) will produce the new film.
