Lawrence Offers Final “Hunger Games” Details

Francis Lawrence appeared at CinemaCon in Las Vegas this year where he received an award for Director of the Year from the convention. Collider got to briefly chat with him backstage where he offered some brief updates on how his work on “The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2” is going.

First up, he says the rough cut of the film was 170 minutes but now it’s down to 127 minutes without credits. That said, there aren’t many deleted scenes according to him.

There’s a one scene, several minute long epilogue that has yet to be filmed and will likely be shot in late May. There’s no plans on a trailer anytime soon, but the studio does intend to show off the film at Comic Con this year.

As for his next project, the film “Odyssey” he’s developing with Lionsgate and it looks like it could well go next.
