Ubisoft has premiered the launch trailer and opening twelve minutes of the upcoming spin-off title “Far Cry New Dawn” which hits PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC this Friday.
Dubbed a standalone sequel to “Far Cry 5,” and not a full game in the series (so it’s not “Far Cry 6”), this explores what happens to humanity seventeen years after a devastating nuclear apocalypse.
Civilization re-emerges from the chaos to find a world dramatically changed. In Hope County, Montana, the remaining populace has gathered into different groups with each employing their own rules for survival.
The vicious Highwaymen, led by twin sisters Mickey and Lou, travel from place to place bleeding people dry of all available resources. As the Survivors try to defend their lands, it’s up to you to come to their aid.
Reviews for the title currently have it at around 73-75/100 on Metacritic, about on par with “Far Cry Primal” and one of the lowest scoring entries in the series to date.
