Last of the Mohicans Becomes A Mini-Series

FX is developing “Mohicans,” a limited series adaptation of James Fenimore Cooper’s classic 1826 novel “The Last of the Mohicans”.

Chris Crowe, who penned Michael Mann’s famed 1992 film adaptation of the book starring Daniel Day-Lewis, is back to co-write the script for this with Kerry McCluggage (“Miami Vice”) and Steve Beck.

This mini-series version is said to explore “America’s beginnings as a nation as told through the eyes of Cooper’s classic characters”. Crowe and McCluggage will executive produce.

The project joins FX’s quickly growing slated of upcoming limited series that include “Conquistadors,” “Grand Hotel,” “Sutton,” “They Marched Into Sunlight” and the remakes of “Mad Dogs” and “Fargo.
