“Last Man Standing” Recasts Two Key Roles

Ahead of its relaunch on FOX for its seventh season, two series regulars from formerly cancelled Tim Allen sitcom “Last Man Standing” will not be returning for the new episodes.

Molly Ephraim and Flynn Morrison, who played Allen’s character’s second daughter Mandy and grandson Boyd respectively, will not be back. Both roles will be recast ahead of the series return on September 28th.

Additionally Kaitlyn Dever, who plays youngest daughter Eve Baxter, is still in negotiations for a recurring role as she recently signed on to star in Netflix’s drama “Unbelievable”.

FOX picked up the series in May, a year after it was cancelled at ABC who axed the show despite doing solid numbers including a 1.2 rating and 6.4 million viewers per episode in Live+Same Day on Friday nights. If FOX is able to match those numbers, it would be one of the network’s highest-rated shows.

Former show co-stars Nancy Travis, Hector Elizondo, Amanda Fuller, Jonathan Adams, Christoph Sanders, and Jordan Masterson are all returning for the series.
