Langella Up For Howard’s Nixon

Forget about Warren Beatty, it seems the acclaimed stars of the stage version of “Frost-Nixon” are set to reprise their roles in the film version.

The Daily Mail reports that Frank Langella is in negotiations to reprise his role as Richard Nixon in “Frost-Nixon,” the Ron Howard-directed adaptation of the acclaimed play.

The tabloid says talks with Warren Beatty have ended and Langella is close to signing for the film, as is Michael Sheen (“The Queen,” “Underworld”) who will re-create his role as David Frost.

The play was written by Peter Morgan (“The Last King of Scotland,” “The Queen”), and an August start-of-shooting date has been reported. The show is currently playing on Broadway after its successful London run.
