“Chronicle” scribe Max Landis will write and direct a remake of his father John Landis’ iconic 1981 cult classic “An American Werewolf in London” for Universal Pictures.
The original followed two Americans backpacking in the English countryside who are attacked by a creature. Weeks later, the lone survivor begins to see apparitions of his dead friend, who warns him that he is turning into a werewolf.
“The Walking Dead” creator Robert Kirkman and his cohort David Albert will produce alongside Todd Garner and Matt Smith. The younger Landis is behind BBC America’s TV series based on “Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency” and also penned the buddy-cop fantasy “Bright” for Netflix.
