Lakeshore Reboots “Underworld” Franchise

Lakeshore Entertainment is reportedly moving forward with a reboot of the vampire vs. werewolves action franchise “Underworld”.

Cory Goodman (“Priest,” “The Last Witch Hunter”) has been hired to write the script for the reinvention of the franchise which began with Len Wiseman’s 2003 film starring Kate Beckinsale, Bill Nighy, Michael Sheen and Scott Speedman.

The film was followed up by a 2006 sequel, a 2009 prequel, and another 2012 sequel. That most recent sequel was the biggest earner in the series with $160 million worldwide, while the franchise on the whole has made $458 million worldwide.

Tom Rosenberg and Gary Lucchesi are producing.
