Neither Shia LaBeouf’s tabloid antics or Jai Courtney’s many admirers in the gay bears community seemed to have helped Dito Montiel’s war thriller “Man Down” which just earned an ignominious honor.
The film opened in a single U.K. theater over the weekend, Reel Cinema in Burnley, and grossed just £7 ($8.70) – the equivalent of selling a single ticket according to ComScore.
Admittedly the film was simultaneously released on Digital HD, so the theatrical release something of an afterthought. It comes to DVD and Blu-ray next month.
Screened at the Venice and Toronto film festivals last year to negative reviews, and grossing $454,490 in the United States, “Man Down” joins some other infamous films at the U.K. box-office such as the Emma Watson-led “The Colony” which scored just £47, and the Richard Gere-led “The Benefactor” which made £25.
