Shia LaBeouf is in the press again today, and it’s not for the skywriting stunt the other week involving an apology to author Daniel Clowes.
LaBeouf is one of the stars of David Ayer’s WW2 tank action drama “Fury” which also stars Brad Pitt, Logan Lerman and Jason Isaacs. LaBeouf has been dedicated to his role as a soldier, so much so that The Daily Mail (via Yahoo) reports that his behavior has allegedly created problems on set.
According to a source for the British trade, LaBeouf has been trying to recreate what it’s like to be a soldier. This means his performance has gone to some eccentric extremes:
“Shia drove everyone mad on set trying to prove that he was the most dedicated star. He pulled out his own tooth during the first few weeks of filming. And then refused to shower for weeks on end so he could better understand how his character would have felt living in the trenches.
Shia was warned about his behavior by several people on set, including Brad Pitt and director David Ayer. He didn’t heed any of their warnings and found himself staying in a small bed-and-breakfast hotel away from the rest of the cast.”
The 27-year-old’s behavior is said to have sparked concern among his friends and colleagues.
