Production was shut down and filming for today has reportedly been cancelled on “L.A.’s Finest,” the upcoming “Bad Boys” spin-off TV series, following two injuries on set.
The incident involved a stunt car that crashed into a cargo crate during filming in San Pedro, Los Angeles. The two people were taken to medical facilities on Thursday.
Spectrum’s first original series, the show stars and is executive produced by Gabrielle Union and Jessica Alba. Jerry Bruckheimer also executive produces while Brandon Margolis and Brandon Sonnier pen the series and serve as showrunners.
The thirteen-episode series follows Syd Burnett (Union), last seen in Miami taking down a drug cartel, who has left her complicated past behind to become an LAPD detective. Paired with a new partner, Nancy McKenna (Alba), a working mom with an equally complex past, Syd is pushed to examine whether her unapologetic lifestyle might be masking a greater personal secret.
The series also stars Ernie Hudson as Joseph Burnett, Zack Gilford as Ben Walker, Sophie Reynolds as Izzy McKenna, Duane Martin as Ben Baines, and Ryan McPartlin as Patrick McKenna. The pilot episode boasted a budget of around $12 million, one of the most expensive pilots to be produced in the past year.
