Kurt Russell Sought For “Guardians” Sequel

Kurt Russell is the top choice to play the key role of the father of Chris Pratt’s Peter Quill (aka. Star-Lord) in the upcoming “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” at Marvel Studios.

Sources tell Heat Vision that proceedings are at the early stages, with the actor not having an official offer nor even having read the script. But Marvel, director James Gunn and Russell himself are reportedly optimistic the outcome will be positive.

Quill’s relationship with his alien dad was a plot point in the first film and will be a focal point in the sequel. Gunn returns as helmer and writer for this follow-up to the 2014 hit that grossed $774 million.

Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista and voice stars Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel are all returning as well alongside newcomers like Pom Klementieff. Filming kicks off early 2016 ahead of a May 5th 2017 release.
