“Kundun,” “Casino,” “Peaks” Disc News

Kundun Casino Peaks Disc News

The Fall season generally has the most impressive disc releases of any given year, and that’s no different this year.

We already have the Criterion “Godzilla” set, the complete “Batman Beyond” Blu-ray series, the “Game of Thrones” lavish boxset, the four-film “Ringu” collection and more. Today, several more impressive titles are joining the list.

First up, Martin Scorsese fans will get a double dose. First up, “Casino” is making the jump to 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray on September 10th. Along with an HDR10 presentation of the film and DTS:X Master Audio track, there’s deleted scenes and featurettes.

The following month, “Kundun” is finally coming to Blu-ray on October 23rd with long-form interviews with Scorsese, composer Philip Glass, and screenwriter Melissa Mathison along with a commentary with historian and critic Peter Tonguette.

Also on the way is “Twin Peaks: The Complete Television Collection”. Set to arrive sometime in October, the boxset includes all of the original two-season series and last year’s 18-part limited series. It does not, however, include the “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me” film and its cut scenes (rights for that are with Criterion).
