Diane Kruger will replace Eva Green in the Benoit Jacquot-directed “Farewell, My Queen” reports The Playlist.
An adaptation of Chantal Thomas’ novel, the story is set inside the insular and ritualized court of Versailles during the final days of the French Revolution.
The main character, played by Lea Seydoux, is a courtier whose job was to read books aloud to Marie Antoinette.
Kruger will play Marie Antoinette, while Gerard Depardieu also stars. Shooting kicks off next Spring.
