Along with signing on to head up an NBC sitcom, Kristin Davis (“Sex and the City”) has scored a leading role in the upcoming sequel “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” reports Deadline.
In 2008’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D”, loosely based on the Jules Verne classic, Brendan Fraser played a scientist who discovers a previously unseen underground world along with his nephew Sean (Josh Hutcherson) and a guide (Anita Briem).
Hutcherson reprises his role as Sean who sets out, along with his mother’s boyfriend (Dwayne Johnson), to find his missing grandfather (Michael Caine) on a mythical and monstrous island
Davis will play Sam’s mother. Brad Peyton directs while Beau Flynn, Charlotte Huggins and Tripp Vinson are producing and filming is currently underway in Hawaii.
