Kristen Stewart To Go “Underwater”

Kristen Stewart is in talks to take on the lead role in the upcoming action-thriller “Underwater” at 20th Century Fox and Chernin Entertainment.

The story centers on a team of researchers who, after an earthquake devastates their underwater station, have to navigate through two miles in the dangerous depths of the ocean floor to make it to safety.

Stewart will play a jaded member of the crew. Writer/director Will Eubank (“The Signal”) is set to direct from a script by Brian Duffield.

Filming is slated to begin in New Orleans next month. Stewart is coming off a busy 2016 which included “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk,” “Personal Shopper,” “Cafe Society” and “Certain Women”.
