Kristen Stewart is set to play famed actress Jean Seberg in Benedict Andrews’ indie political thriller “Against All Enemies”.
Set in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the story centers on attempts by the FBI to discredit Seberg through its Cointelpro program in retaliation for her support of the Black Panther Party. Those efforts included creating a false story in 1970 that the child Seberg was carrying was fathered by a member of the Black Panther Party.
Anthony Mackie, will portray a civil rights activist and Jack O’Connell has been cast as an FBI agent assigned to surveil her. Margaret Qualley and Colm Meaney co-star, while Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse penned the script.
Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatik, Kate Garwood, Stephen Hopkins and Andrew Levitas will produce and shooting is expected to start in the summer.
