Former “The Office” star John Krasinski is in talks to take one of the lead roles in Michael Bay’s proposed Benghazi movie “13 Hours” at Paramount Pictures.
Based on Mitchell Zuckoff’s book of the same name, the story recounts the 2012 attack on the U.S. Special Mission Compound in Libya. The action revolves around the six-man security team that fought to defend it.
Several actors have reportedly been reading for roles in the film including Woody Harrelson, J.K. Simmons, Walton Goggins, and Shea Whigham with Krasinski so far the only one in negotiations following a reading that stunned Bay. Krasinski would play likely play security operator who goes by the pseudonym Jack Silva in the book.
“13 Hours” is likely to head into production sometime this year.
