Keira Knightley and Alexander Skarsgard are in talks to star in a film adaptation of the Rhidian Brook novel “The Aftermath” at Fox Searchlight and Scott Free.
Set in postwar Germany, Knightley would play Rachael Morgan who arrives in the ruins of Hamburg in the bitter winter in order to be reunited with her British colonel husband Lewis.
As they set off for their new home, Rachael is stunned to discover that Lewis has made an extraordinary decision: They will be sharing the grand house with its previous owners, a German widower and his troubled daughter.
James Kent directing (“Testament Of Youth”) is slated to direct while Ridley Scott is producing. “Race” scribes Anna Waterhouse and Joe Shrapnel adapted the screenplay.
