Michael Clarke Duncan, Chris Klein and Rick Yune will join Kristin Kreuk in “Street Fighter,” based on the popular Japanese vidgame franchise reports Variety.
20th Century Fox, Hyde Park Entertainment and Capcom are producing the film which will focus on the Chun-Li character that Kreuk is playing. Duncan will play Balrog, Klein plays Nash, Yune is the mystical Gen.
Moon Bloodgood, Cheng Pei Pei, Black Eyed Peas musician Taboo, and Singapore’s Edmund Chen also star. Producers are still casting the film’s villain Bison.
Jean-Claude Van Damme and Raul Julia starred in the 1994 film version which failed critically and commercially.
Andrzej Bartkowiak (“Romeo Must Die,” “Exit Wounds”) is directing the new version from a script penned by “Voltron” scribe Justin Marks.
Hong Kong fight choreographer Dion Lam (“The Matrix”) is handling the extreme fight sequences. Shooting will take place in Bangkok, Hong Kong and Vancouver starting in March.
