“Pompeii” and “Game of Thrones” hunk Kit Harington has signed on to star with Alicia Vikander in the World War I-set “Testament of Youth” for BBC Films and Heyday.
Vikander plays writer and feminist Vera Brittain who is best-remembered for her 1933 memoir of the same name as the title.
The book follows a young woman who overcomes the prejudices of her family and hometown to win a scholarship to Oxford.
Falling for her brother’s friend (Harington) who is sent off to war, she volunteers as a nurse and travels to France in order to help. James Kent (“The White Queen”) helms the project.
Harington will shoot the role following his commitments to a movie based on the TV series “Spooks” which begins production later this month. Harington and Vikander previously worked together on the much delayed “Seventh Son” opening next year.
