Greg Kinnear, Michelle Rodriguez and Lily-Rose Depp will join Gary Oldman, Armie Hammer and Evangeline Lilly in the opioid crisis drama feature “Dreamland”.
The story follows three key characters – a drug trafficker (Hammer) arranging a multi-cartel Fentanyl smuggling operation, an architect recovering from an OxyContin addiction tracking down the truth behind her son’s narcotics involvement, and a university professor (Kinnear) dealing with unexpected revelations about the latest painkiller of the pharmaceutical company that pays for his research.
Rodriguez plays a DEA supervisor who clashes with Hammer’s drug trafficker. Depp plays Hammer’s sister, a brilliant and desperate young woman. Nicholas Jarecki (“Arbitrage”) directs from his original screenplay and filming has kicked off in Montreal. Jarecki and Cassian Elwes serve as producers.
