Earlier this week came a great rumor – that Vincent D’Onofrio would reprise his “Daredevil” villain role of Wilson Fisk (aka. The Kingpin) in the upcoming “Spider-Man: Homecoming” film at Marvel Studios.
If true, it would mark the first time a character who originated in a Marvel TV show has shown up in one of the MCU movies. However, there’s no truth to the report according to the actor who took to Twitter to answer the question of his potential involvement:
Sorry folks but this is news to me.
It would be great but I don’t think it will happen. V. https://t.co/GrVwbUYsqX

In fact he went on to ask fans to campaign for him to be in the film:

Marvel has famously struggled to find good villains for its screen adaptations with D’Onofrio’s Kingpin being one of the three most widely acclaimed portrayals – the other two being Tom Hiddleston’s Loki and David Tenant’s Kilgrave.
Though Kingpin is a primary villain for Daredevil in the comics, he has also been a big bad for Spider-Man in the past including the famed 1990s animated series.
