It’s now confirmed by numerous official sources that the first trailer for the upcoming “IT: Chapter 2” is set to arrive this Thursday, and now thanks to the source material’s author – we have a time and even a review.
The new film adapts the other half of Stephen King’s iconic novel, in this the original kids are now grown adults who return to Derry three decades later to face Pennywise once and for all.
While the rest of us have to wait four more months to see the movie, King himself has already seen an early cut of the film and tweeted: “Looking forward to IT Chapter 2? You should be. I’ve seen it, and it’s terrific. The trailer is coming Thursday, at noon. You’ll float.” As King is based in Maine, it’s expected the noon he refers to is US-EST.
The comments come as the official Twitter account for the film, which has been dormant for many months, has come back to life in the last 24 hours and included some teasing artwork.
The first film grossed more than $700 million at the global box office, the highest-grossing horror movie of all-time, and the first trailer launched to 197 million views in the first 24 hours. The same team behind the first film, including director Andres Muschietti, is back at the helm of the new one which opens early September.
