Kimberly Peirce Flies With “Wicked” Faeries

“Boys Don’t Cry” and “Stop-Loss” director Kimberly Peirce has been hired to direct a film adaptation of the first book in Melissa Marr’s young adult fantasy series “Wicked Lovely” for Universal Pictures and Wild West Picture Show Productions reports Entertainment Weekly.

The story follows a teenage girl, Aislinn, who has seen dangerous faeries her entire life and must go against everything she was taught to confront a world she was raised to fear.

Caroline Thompson (“Corpse Bride”) is adapting the script. Two further books in the series, “Ink Exchange” and “Fragile Eternity”, have already been published with a fourth due out later this year.
