Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman, the stars of the U.S. remake of “The Killing,” are set to reunite on a new series – the small screen adaptation of Joe Wright’s 2011 young assassin film “Hanna”.
Rising star Esme Creed-Miles (“Mister Lonely,” “Dark River”) also stars in the Amazon straight-to-series drama as an extraordinary young girl who evades the relentless pursuit of an off-book CIA agent and tries to unearth the truth behind who she is.
Enos and Kinnaman will take on the roles previously played by Cate Blanchett and Eric Bana respectively in the original – namely the film’s villain and mentor figures.
David Farr, who co-wrote the feature, penned the new take which will be directed by Sarah Adina Smith (“Legion,” “Buster’s Mal Heart”). Filming begins in March across Hungary, Slovakia, Spain and the UK.
