Killing Renewed, Kinnaman Joins “Lola”

Just as AMC has ordered a second season of its serial drama “The Killing”, series star Joel Kinnaman has nabbed the lead role in the rom-com “Lola Versus” for Fox Searchlight and Groundswell Productions says The Hollywood Reporter.

The story follows a woman (Greta Gerwig) who is dumped just weeks before her wedding and embarks on a series of encounters ranging from the horrible to the embarrassing to the enlightening as she navigates life as a single woman.

Kinnaman will play the tattooed artist that breaks off the wedding to Lola and breaks her heart. Hamish Linklater also stars.

Daryl Wein directs the project which he co-wrote with Zoe Jones. Shooting begins later this month in New York.

Meanwhile with “The Killing”, AMC’s order will include 13 more episodes of the hourlong drama to premiere sometime next year.
