Kidman Replaces Vergara In “Paperboy”

Nicole Kidman looks set to replace Sofia Vergara in Lee Daniels’ drama “The Paperboy” says The Hollywood Reporter.

The story centers on a reporter and his brother who investigate the events surrounding a murder in order to exonerate a man on death row.

Matthew McConaughey, Zac Efron, Tobey Maguire and Sofia Vergara were originally set to star. Maguire dropped out, causing a delay which led to Vergara’s departure due to her “Modern Family” show commitments.

If she signs, Kidman will now play a woman with a dark side who writes letters to men on death row. She brings the case to the attention of the reporter, developing a relationship with him.

McConaughey and Efron are still attached at present with shooting aiming to begin later this year.
