Kevin James Takes “Zookeeper” Job

Kevin James (“Paul Blart: Mall Cop,” “Hitch”) has scored the title role in MGM’s “The Zookeeper” reports Variety.

Penned by Jay Scherick and David Ronn, the story centers on a lonely zookeeper who decides to leave his job because he can’t meet a girl, leading to intervention by the zoo’s animals.

Frank Coraci will helm while ‘Blart’ production companies Happy Madison, Hey Eddie and Broken Road will serve in producing capacities.

Filming is likely to kick off this summer on the East Coast.
