Kevin Hart is set to star in “Fatherhood,” a family dramedy based on the Matt Logelin 2011 memoir “Two Kisses For Maddy”.
The story follows Logelin as he and his very young daughter Madeline move to India for two months after his wife and her mother Liz died suddenly. The book chronicles their experiences living in another country, along with Logelin’s struggles with solo parenting so early into Maddy’s life.
Lifetime had previously optioned the rights in 2012 for a telemovie that never eventuated. Paul Weitz (“Mozart in the Jungle”) will direct and pen the script based on an earlier draft by Dana Stevens.
Hart will next film “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle” for much of the first half of this year.
