Kevin Hart To Lead “Great Outdoors” Remake

Universal Pictures has attached Kevin Hart to star in a remake of the 1988 comedy “The Great Outdoors”.

Howie Deutch helmed and the legendary John Hughes-scripted the original film in which a Dan Aykroyd and Annette Bening played a couple whose plans for a relaxing outdoor family camping trip in Wisconsin is imperiled when his annoying in-laws (John Candy, Stephanie Faracy) come to visit.

Randall Green, who recently wrote the live-action “Scooby Doo” reboot for Warner Bros. Pictures, is writing the new version while Hart and Michael De Luca are producing.
