Kerrigan To Remake French Thieves

Warner Independent Pictures has set Lodge Kerrigan (“Keane,” “Claire Dolan”) to write and direct the English-language remake of the 1996 French film “Les Voleurs” reports Variety.

Set in New Orleans, “Thieves” tells the story of a police detective who is the black sheep of his family, a band of criminals.

Daniel Auteuil and Catherine Deneuve starred in the original. Arthur Sarkissian, Jennifer Fox and Peter Sussman are producing the new version.

Aside from his acclaimed work, Kerrigan is famous for helming “In God’s Hands,” a Peter Sarsgaard and Maggie Gyllenhaal film which, on the eve of completion, saw its only negative destroyed in a lab accident.
