“The Hangover” and “Crazy Rich Asians” star Ken Jeong has joined the cast of “Occupation: Rainfall,” a sequel to the Australian sci-fi alien invasion film “Occupation” which opened the other month locally and hit VOD in the U.S. a few weeks ago.
Jeong will begin shooting in early October in Australian locations including the Hunter Valley and the Gold Coast, joining cast members such as Temuera Morrison, Dan Ewing, Stephany Jacobsen, Aaron Jeffery, Zac Garred, Izzy Stephens, Trystan Go, Lawrence Makoare, Vince Colosimo and Tamala Shelton.
Luke Sparke returns to helm the sequel which picks up two years into the intergalactic invasion of Earth. Survivors in Sydney fight back in a desperate ground war and as causalities mount, the resistance and their unexpected allies uncover a plot that could see the war come to a decisive end.
Carly & Carmel Imrie produce the film which will open sometime next year.
