Hit Australian sitcom “Kath and Kim” are coming to the big screen with “The Kath and Kim Filum”, the debut feature of Riley Turner Productions reports The Sydney Morning Herald.
The story follow the suburban Melbourne gals on a whirlwind trip overseas which becomes a “vajazzling tale of love, lust and revolution”. Unlike the 2005 telemovie “Da Kath and Kim Code”, this will be a proper theatrical release.
Show stars Jane Turner and Gina Riley are penning the script and producing alongside Rick McKenna. Ted Emery will direct the film which Roadshow Films are scheduled to distribute.
The film comes a decade after the show’s launch in Australia and three years after the failed American remake of the show began on NBC in 2008.
