SNL breakout Kate McKinnon (“Ghostbusters,” “Rough Night”) is in negotiations to join the cast of director Danny Boyle’s upcoming untitled music-themed comedy at Universal and Working Title.
Richard Curtis penned the film which is set in the 1960s or 70s, but plot specifics are under wraps. Lily James and Himesh Patel are set to star.
Curtis and Boyle will also produce the film alongside Tim Bevan, Eric Fellner, Matt Wilkinson and Bernie Bellew. The plan is to shoot this summer ahead of Boyle likely shooting the next James Bond film from sometime around the end of the year.
McKinnon will next be seen in the comedy “The Spy Who Dumped Me” opening in August.
