Laeta Kalogridis, who did some re-writes on “Avatar”, will re-team with James Cameron for the upcoming remake of the 1966 sci-fi classic “Fantastic Voyage” according to Heat Vision.
The voyage revolves around a team of scientists who are shrunk to atomic size and sent in a miniature submarine inside the body of a scientist to save his life.
Kalogridis (“Shutter Island”) will perform re-writes on a script previously worked on by Shane Salerno, Cormac Wibberley and Marianne Wibberley.
Cameron, who is producing with Jon Landau, is also pursuing “Clash of the Titans” helmer Louis Leterrier to direct the project which would begin shooting early next year reports Deadline.
Fox is still in the process of figuring out a budget for the film. Leterrier has already met over the project along with the likes of Darren Aronofsky and Timur Bekmambetov, the latter two have since booked other projects.
