There’s been arguments over how his character has been written and in some cases performed, but very few seem to have issue with how Henry Cavill looks as Superman in his two films for the DC Extended Universe so far.
With the actor now filming scenes for “Justice League,” it appears this post-‘Dawn’ incarnation of the character will sport one of the only missing signature pieces of Superman’s look – his hair. The instagra account TravelByHart was able to arrange for two kids to visit the set of the movie where they met and stood for a photo of Cavill in full costume which includes the signature hair curl.
This is not unusual for Cavill who first revealed the color scheme of his Superman suit in “Man of Steel” in a similar photo pose with a kid visiting the set.
Producer Deborah Snyder also spoke with Forbes this week about Cavill’s take on the character and has a response for those who think this Kal-El is too brooding or dark:
“Zack really loves Joseph Campbell and the hero’s journey. And these characters are just so mythic, and their journeys – I always say their journeys are what we can relate to. Because we can’t relate to their powers, so what do you have? That’s the great thing about our Superman. He is more relatable. Someone said, ‘It’s so dark,’ and I go, ‘Well, is it dark? He’s going through real problems that we go through as people every day.’ So I don’t think that’s dark, I think that’s just who we are. People are complex, we’re not strictly just the good Boy Scout trying to do good. He does want to do good, and I think all of the things Superman represents are who he is, but he also stumbles along the way and learns from it. To me, that’s so much more interesting.”
“Justice League” is in production ahead of a November 2017 release.
