Throughout this week there’s been a lot of casting rumors surrounding the so-called “Justice League Dark” project at Warner Bros. Pictures. That film will see the supernatural heroes of the DC Comics universe coming together to stop a threat – in this case a villain named Anton Arcane.
So far we’ve heard that the likes of Colin Farrell, Ben Mendelsohn, Monica Bellucci, Ewan McGregor and Ron Perlman are being sought for roles in the film ranging from John Constantine to Swamp Thing. Today, JoBlo has released shortlist of potential directors for the project according to their sources.
With Guillermo del Toro having dropped out of helming the project earlier this year, Warners is going for some wilder choices it would seem. Amongst the front runners are “Evil Dead” remake helmer Fede Alvarez, and the pair of Aharon Keshales and Navot Papushado who made “Big Bad Wolves”.
del Toro’s script is still expected to be employed by the project, which aims to begin production early next year, but no official announcements have been made by the studio so far.
