“Jurassic World” Sequel Scores $15M In Previews

Universal’s “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” pulled in approximately $15.3 million on Thursday night in North American preview showings.

That’s behind the $18.5 million the first “Jurassic World” did three years ago in Thursday night screenings, and puts the new film on track to debut between $130-140 million over its domestic opening weekend.

Reviews for ‘Fallen Kingdom’ have been mixed overall and worse than for “Jurassic World,” plus it also faces competition from the still going strong “Incredibles 2” which overperformed last weekend with $183 million.

The film has come under fire for being, yet again, another recent blockbuster to cut back on LGBT on screen representation after actress Daniella Pineda revealed her character paleo-veterinarian Zia Rodriguez had a fun line in which she said: “I look at Chris [Pratt] and I’m like, ‘Yeah, square jaw, good bone structure, tall, muscles. I don’t date men, but if I did, it would be you. It would gross me out, but I’d do it.”

There’s also a new ‘Honest Trailer’ out for “Jurassic Park III” which you can see below. “Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom” is now in cinemas everywhere.
