With Colin Trevorrow’s “Jurassic World” slated for release next Friday, Universal Pictures has released a new ‘final trailer’ for the film to try and entice any last stragglers not yet onboard with the film.
At the same time, scientist Dr. Jack Horner has spoken with The BBC about the real science behind dinosaur engineering and whether it could be done in this day and age. Surprisingly, ‘World’ may be more accurate the original “Jurassic Park” especially in regards to a hybrid creature:
“We don’t have dinosaur DNA, but we can make transgenic animals. The cool thing about making a hybrid is that we can take a whole bunch of genes from other kinds of animals and mix them together to make a new animal, which is actually more plausible than the original [idea of] bringing [dinosaurs] back.”
“Jurassic World” opens on Friday with the film’s projected domestic opening weekend said to be targeting around $100 million.
