Producer Frank Marshall has indicated in a tweet that production is getting underway on the “Jurassic World” sequel for Universal Pictures. Marshall shared a photo from his office to mark the start of work on the J.A. Bayona directed feature.
In related news, fan site Jurassic Outpost (via MovieWeb) has disocvered that Universal had recently claimed the domain names IslaNubarRescueMission.com, AllCreaturesHaveRights.com, and AllCreaturesHaveRights.org.
Bayona has previously suggested the new film will not only be very different but will have a political angle that will deal with the ownership of these creations and serve as a parable for animal rights abuses. If the URLs are accurate, it suggests the film will include the angle of activists campaigning for dinosaur rights in the film.
The second ‘World’ is said to be much bigger and scarier than the last film, and boasts a stronger connection to the original “Jurassic Park”. “Jurassic World 2” opens in cinemas on June 22nd 2018.
