Continuing on a long tradition that began decades ago, one of the minds behind the previous record holder for the biggest opening weekend at the box-office has congratulated their successor in the press.
In this case it was “Jurassic World” producer Frank Marshall who took to Twitter today to send congratulations to everyone involved in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” – including his wife Kathleen Kennedy – for taking that record on both the domestic and international fronts.
This follows on from earlier this Summer when Marvel president Kevin Feige tweeted out a congratulations to the “Jurassic World” cast and crew for dethroning the first “The Avengers” film for opening weekend honors.
The tradition goes all the way back to 1977 when Steven Spielberg congratulated George Lucas when the original “Star Wars” eclipsed the opening of “Jaws”.
