Jurassic Passes “Avengers,” Gets Spoofed

Universal’s “Jurassic World” has now hit $1.522 billion at the global box office, surpassing Marvel’s “The Avengers” ($1.520 billion) to become the third highest grossing film of all-time worldwide not accounting for inflation.

The film has managed a whopping $614.3 million domestically, where it’s still fourth and behind “The Avengers” with $623.4 million – though it is expected to pass that soon as well (‘World’ made a further $11 million last weekend alone, its sixth week of release).

The news comes as one of the most criticised elements of the film, the fact that Bryce Dallas Howard’s character spends the entire movie outrunning dinosaurs in high-heeled shoes, get amusingly lambasted in a new mock commercial for a disc boxset dubbed the “Jurassic Park High Heels Edition” in which high heels have been digitally added to scenes from the previous films – even on the dinosaurs.
