A couple of key release date changes have been announced.
The supernatural thriller “Oculus” starring Karen Gillan, Katee Sackhoff and Brenton Thwaites, has settled on an April 18th 2014 release. The story follows grown up siblings trying to find the spirit that committed a murder for which the brother was blamed.
With “Fast and Furious 7” essentially certain to be moving off its July 11th 2014 date, next Summer has been shuffled around a bit. First “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” moved up a week to take that July 11th slot, now the Wachowski’s “Jupiter Ascending” has been moved up a week to take Apes’ old July 18th slot.
When the Game Stands Tall
Originally slated for mid-September, TriStar have moved up the Jim Caviezel sports drama “When the Game Stands Tall” to a late Summer bow on August 22nd 2014.
Gina Prince-Bythewood’s “Blackbird” from Relativity, about a suicidal young musician and the young cop that saves her, has announced a November 14th 2014 release.
“Immortals” and “Mirror Mirror” director Tarsem’s new sci-fi project “Selfless” has been moved from Fall 2014 to a February 27th 2015 release. Ryan Reynolds stars in the film about a very rich man who has his consciousness transferred into the body of a young man.
Finally, Joe Wright’s live action fantasy tale “Pan” has joined the crazy Summer of 2015 fray with a June 26th 2015 release scheduled. The film is an origin story about Peter Pan, a project which Javier Bardem has been courted for to star as Captain Blackbeard (NOT Captain Hook).
